Import from Polkadot.JS

Talisman allows you to seamlessly batch import all your accounts at once from a JSON file that was exported by either Talisman or from Polkadot.js.

In this article we'll cover how to add your accounts through batch imports during onboarding and whilst using the Talisman wallet.

Completing the Batch Import

  1. Select "Import", then click on "Import via JSON"

  1. Choose the JSON file that you exported from P.JS. Thereafter, enter the password that you used to encrypt this JSON file and select "Unlock JSON File". If you have locked the file with multiple passwords, take note of Step 4 and 5 below.

  1. Click "Select all" to import all the accounts from the JSON file. You can also individually select the accounts that you want to import. Once you've chosen the accounts you wish to import, select "Unlock".

  1. The importer will cycle through all the accounts selected and attempt to unlock it with the password that you have provided. Continue to input all the passwords relevant to the selected accounts, then proceed by selecting "Unlock." Repeat until all accounts are successfully unlocked.

  2. The accounts in the Polkadot.JS export may have been protected with different passwords. When you input a password, all accounts that have that password will be unlocked. If there are remaining unlocked accounts, Talisman will prompt you for the different passwords until all of the accounts are unlocked.

  1. Now that you've unlocked each account, select "Import" to proceed.

  1. You can now access all your newly imported accounts directly in Talisman.
