# Import from MetaMask
Talisman allows you to effortlessly import your accounts from Metamask. In this article, you'll learn how to import your EVM accounts using your recovery phrase or private key.
### **Export your private key or recovery phrase from Metamask**

1. From the popup, select “settings” which can be accessed by clicking the burger menu on the top right corner.
2. Select “Security & Privacy".
3. Select “ Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase”.
4. To reveal your secret Recovery Phrase, first you will need to answer the security questions.
5. Input your account password. Click “Next” after you’ve completed this.
6. You arrive at this page, press and hold the button to reveal your secret recovery phrase.
7. Now you may export your Recovery Phrase and store it in a secure place. You will need this key later, to import your accounts into Talisman.

1. From the popup, select “Account Details” which can be accessed by clicking the burger menu on the top right corner.
2. Select Unlock Private Key
3. Enter your password.
4. Enter you password
5. Now you may copy your Private Key to a secure place. You will need this key later, to import your accounts into Talisman.

### **Import your EVM accounts into Talisman using Recovery Phrase**
1. From the popup, select “More”
2. Select “Add Account”.
3. Select "Import" then select "Import via Recovery Phrase".
4. Now you can select your account type, add an account name and input your recovery phrase. Once the details are filled, click the “Import” button which should now be green.
5. Your account will now be imported into your Talisman wallet.
### **Import your EVM accounts into Talisman using Private Key**
1. From the popup, select “More”.
2. Select “Add Account”
3. Select "Import" then select "Import via Private Key"
4. Type a name for your account and enter your private key, thereafter select "Save" which should now be green
5. Your account will now be imported into your Talisman wallet.
