Buying an NFT

Non-fungible Tokens and the Talisman Extension

The Talisman wallet extension can be used to purchase, list, and view non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The extension works across many popular NFT apps such as Singular and Opensea. In fact, the extension will work with any Polkadot/Kusama or Ethereum NFT application. For more information about Talisman and NFTs, check out Your NFTs.

Buying an NFT on Singular

  1. 1.
To start, head over to the Singular homepage and connect the Talisman extension and your account to the dApp. Click “Connect” in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Choose your Talisman from the list of supported wallets
3. Select your Polkadot account from the extension pop-up, and then click “Connect”
4. Click on the name of your Polkadot account again to confirm the selection
5. Once you’ve found an NFT you’d like, select it and you will see the following screen with important information about the NFT you are about to purchase including the price, details, and history (mint information, previous owners, and price history).
6. If you are happy with the information shown click the “Buy now” button located under the price. After a few seconds you will see a pop-up window asking you to consent to the purchase. This pop-up shows the price of the NFT you are purchasing, and the cost of the transaction fees to complete the purchase.
You must tick the box that says “I Consent”, and then click the “Buy now” button in this window to continue with your purchase. If you do not wish to continue with your purchase, simply press “Cancel” and you will be taken back to the NFT you were viewing.
7. After clicking “Buy now” you will see a Talisman extension pop-up asking you to approve your transaction. Once you click “Approve” in this window you will not be able to reverse the transaction, so make sure the details are correct. If you don’t wish to proceed press “Cancel”.
8. After approving the transaction, the app will display several status messages to let you know the transaction is being processed, and that the purchase of the NFT is pending.
9. When your purchase has completed, the NFT page will now show your on-chain identity, or your wallet address as the owner of the NFT.
