MEV Shield

MEV bots actively monitor subnet alpha stake and unstake flows on Bittensor. If a bot anticipates your transaction, it can front-run it, resulting in worse execution and higher slippage.

To help protect against this, Talisman includes MEV Shield. When enabled, your staking operation is encrypted, reducing the likelihood of being front-run. You can enable MEV Shield by toggling on - in the "Confirm Staking” page of a subnet staking transaction.

Important: Even with MEV Shield enabled, if you only have one alpha position in an account, a shielded transaction can still indicate an incoming unstake. In this case, bots may act ahead of you regardless.

As an additional layer of protection, Talisman automatically applies a maximum slippage cap on every stake and unstake operation, limiting your exposure if the market moves against you during a transaction.

Best practices:

  • Enable MEV Shield whenever possible.

  • Split large stakes or unstakes into smaller chunks

  • Avoid holding only one subnet position per account
