# Stake TAO on Root

Talisman allows you to seamlessly stake TAO on root and choose your root stake validator.

To stake TAO on root:\
1\. From your Talisman Wallet, choose your preferred Bittensor account.

2. Hover over your TAO token balance and choose "Stake".

3. Select "Subnet 0: Root TAO" in order to stake Root.<br>

4. Input your desired staking amount. Click the "Select Validator" pill to choose your root validator.

5. Here you can select your desired root validator from the dropdown menu.

6. By hovering over the subnet basket icon, you can see the validator's subnet basket mix. By clicking on "View all" in the subnet holding window, you can view these in detail.&#x20;

You may check the validator's full subnet basket here. The validator basket shows how the rewards earned by a Root validator are distributed across different subnet tokens. Its composition determines the subnet exposure, and therefore the returns, shared by people staking to that validator.

7. Once you select a validator, select "Review".

8. Confirm your transaction by clicking "Stake".

9. Once your transaction has been successfully processed, you can track your root staking positions for each validator from your Talisman wallet.
